Good looking people had fun:

Thanks everyone for coming. It was a blast.

Ball Deep

In gratitude for the disproportionate hours of sleep (and probably years of life) Whitney lost getting Jazz Christmas ready for last weekend’s premiere, Lev’s written her a poem. It’s loosely based on the “Because you took…” poem from Lolita.

Jazzy Jazz

This week, while Whitney paints animations for Jazz Christmas, Lev edits the sound.

In this cut from the Jazz Christmas Studio Sessions, actors John A. and Philip C. play Thermon Thermone (pictured above) playing Lightning Bolt’s “Ride the Sky.” (MP3)

Here’s the lyrics — sing along!

Press-tigers

The new issue of Future Incite, the webzine of “genre video making for the advanced hobbyist” has an article about L & W’s “genre” movies, Fun’s Over and Blood Stew. The article includes an MP3 interview between L & W and the zine’s editor Sundiata Cowels. Whitney is on point and Lev is hilarious.

W: We like knives. We like tennis racquets. They go well together.

L: We want our movies to look like art […] In these days when a lot of digital movies are moving towards blurring the line between reality TV and fictional–y’know: Is it a documentary? Is it a mockumentary? We’re not interested in pursuing any of those questions. […] People still think that [our movies] are improvised or that they’re documentary-style or something. They’re none of that. They’re highly staged. But if we were shooting digital, people would think that all the time. [Shooting 16mm] is kinda a way of influencing the way the movies are read.
