West Berkeley’s Pacific Basin Building presents,
“Ice on the High” a feral art/music event for three nights and two days in the first week of December. Ice on the High is part of a growing wave of temporal upstart art exhibitions, concerts, and events taking the San Francisco Bay Area by storm. All the artists presented are experimenting with this new context for the first time. The economic downslide has led us to create new spaces for art/music. We consider this an antidote in the face of disaster. Pacific Basin is a mixed-use artists/architects’ building with empty storefronts and this art/music program will fill the space. It is our hope that the arts will bring new possibility to our West Berkeley project.

“Blondes in the Jungle and Friends” - An every kinda party, September 18th
Very excited to finally announce the overwhelmingly nice details of next Friday, September 18th’s screening of “Blondes in the Jungle and Friends,“ a program named so because not only are all the contributors friends, but also because their videos and films are v friendly with the movie - in terms of thematics, looks, feelings, vibes, moments, moods, etc.
Info below, soon to be linked out.
Too much!

Yeah it’s Synchronicity, but don’t call the Police!
Please compare/contrast Family JazZ, the ‘mazing short by friends Brendan and Mike, with Halloween Face: Episode 5, by me and Whit…
I know. CRAZILY, B + M had never seen Halloween Face when they conceived this! It wasn’t till Libby showed up to shoot that she was like, “You guys know I’ve played a teen in the future before?” I don’t know quite what it is about Libby that suggests lite-dystopia family drama, but I could see like 10 more of these.

THOUGHT: A couple years out now, I’m pretty proud of the Halloween Face project. Like a lot of TV shows it takes a couple eps to hit its stride, and the finale’s inevitably a bit of a let down - but those middle episodes are fucking solid.

Real and fictional style convergence: Philadelphia FRIDAY

Alright. Truth? Ada Egloff taught me how to dress when I was 17. Soo…Daily Candy, Philadelphia City Paper, Uwishunu, um…Teen Vogue…Paper…I knoooowwww!! Right?!
We’re v siked about screening Blondes in the Jungle at Ada’s new Philly shop Oma this Friday. There’ll be $2 beers and wines (I’m thinking maybe even some sparkling wines) and a definitely warm, fun vibe. Plus music. Speaking of which, it’s been a minute since I’ve pushed the Blondes Inspirational Mix, at you right? Enjoy.
Oh and thanks to B. for sending me this today (I think cuz of its obvious Blonvergent qualities, right?) – way weirder/better than the blurb might suggest.
Playlist Necessary?
Been meaning to post this - it’s a swirly-alternative mix I played at a rooftop party this day last month and on WHFR a few weeks ago. I like it I mean it’s sorta an exercise in obviousness, which I’m really into these days.
Lev Leviev: e-LEV-ate Me Later
When I think of the 5 or 6 people that would enjoy this mix most, it’s the same people that check this blog regularly. So if you’re reading this and it’s May, this is literally for you.
Oh and it’s also dedicated to the Lakers who either win easily or make an embarrassing mess.
